Familiar Face

I stand there,

Listening to the guitar strings,

Strumming in my ears,

And mellow lyrics,

Creating an atmosphere.

I look around,

And see people hustling,

Their laughter reverberating,

Mind wondering, why ain’t I bustling?

I wait,

Hoping to find a familiar face,

The one I know from the start,

The one that lives in the heart,

The one that will take away the pain,

The one that will take me in his arms again.
