Through The Door

I see you through the peephole,

Pacing back and forth,

Long before you ring the bell.

And I let you,

Take your time,

Before you get ready,

To finally come in.

It is a sight to see,

Because you're trying to hide the flowers,

Behind you, at first,

Then wondering if they're a good idea or not,

And I'm in here,

Silently screaming,

Please bring them in,

I want them!!!

Until you finally make up your mind,

And let a deep breath out,

See straight at the peephole,

And somehow know,

That I'm looking at you,

For your smile,

That very smile,

I have started liking lately,

A little extra genuine,

A lot extra happy,

All for me,

Like I smile for you.
