Waiting Room

That in-between feeling,

Between arrivals and departures,

Between going and reaching,

Between good news and bad news,

Between anticipation and relief,

Between hope and reality,

Between waiting and moments before leaving,

A waiting room is a place full of nerve-endings,

Often filled with overflowing thoughts of the future,

And anticipating the best while preparing for the worst,

An in-between before an incident that could change the trajectory of life,

I'm in the waiting room right now.

I'm waiting for something to happen,

Something good hopefully.
