Today the words demanded new,
Poetry, place and person,
To be drafted into verses,
To be saved into notes,
To be read when sad,
To be smiled upon years later.
Today the words demanded new,
Rhymes, routes and reminders,
For why I write when I do,
For why you became my muse,
For why it makes me sad,
For why I’ll laugh at this years later.
Today the words demanded you.
Whole on the way with warmth,
Of words brewing for you,
Of poetries written for you,
Of why they make me sad,
Of why you weren’t there to laugh with me.
