Art vs Artist

I try to practice this theory often:

to separate the art from the artist.

And I kinda fail at it,

When my mind fights the heart saying,

if it wasn't from the heart, it wouldn't be art, so how, do i, separate the art from the artist's heart?

And now that I'm writing this,

I'm wondering,

if we really separate the art from the artist, then what remains of the artist?

because everything about the artist is the art and everything about the art is the version of the artist hiding either behind their medium of choice.

So, should I even practice the theory?
