Awaaz

My Instagram is filled with snippets of people on the streets,

Just like the movies where everyone gets together to bring down the bad guy,

Sadly, it is slower in reality than in the movies,

Where the bad guy steps away, letting the masses rejoice.

I have not seen a protest like this in years,

It's long overdue,

It's the need of the hour,

It's crucial to protect,

What we call democracy,

However little is left of it.

I hope this doesn't go in vain,

Or there'll be far more bloodshed than today,

Far louder chants than today,

Far more protests and not just protests.

I hope it doesn't get worse than this.

I hope it's all for the right reasons.
