Hit And Run

I'm an erratic road-crosser,

I look at the vehicle coming,

And I still go for it,

Saying "me, me, me" in my mind,

Or "I go first" whichever my mind prefers,

And cross is seconds before the vehicle passes behind me.

I should have been more careful,

While I crossed paths with you.

There was a crash,

But you kept going, didn't you?
