Thak-haar kar jab laut-ti hu mai,

Har raat lafzo ke paas,

Duniya aur dhaago ki uljhano ke baad,

Motiyon ko sui se pirone ke baad,

Tab khayal bas ek hi aata hai,

Kaha hai woh ladki jiske paas,

Har din koi nayi si kahani hoti thi,

Kaha hai woh haseen kavya,

Jiske dware woh khwaab buna karti thi,

Kya ho gaya jo khwaabo ko chod,

Dhaago ko bun rahi hai?

Aisa bhi kya bun rahi hai,

Ki khwaab ab bune nahi jaate,

Sahi bhi bun rahi hai ya nahi?

Ya firse sab kuch udhed dena hoga,

Raat ke andhero mein,

Uljhe dhaago aur khwaabo ko firse sametna hoga,

Dimag ke shor aur aas-paas ke sannate mein,

Akele fir kuch dhoondhna hoga,

Kuch aisa jo khoya nahi hai,

Kuch aisa jo paaya bhi kaha hai,

Kaha hai woh?
