Matryoshka

I've been becoming like a Matryoshka with each passing day,

A newer version revealing with each lesson learnt,

A new character evolved with every plot twist,

A new layer formed to become a better person than the previous matryoshka doll,

But with every new matryoshka doll,

I'm carrying the tiniest and purest version of me too,

Faultless, scarless, most innocent of all,

The one who knew nothing about the cruel world,

The one who's proud of each matryoshka above her,

Protecting, honouring, building,

Newer versions with experiences she'll one day unravel.

p.s.: matryoshka is a russian set of dolls, with multiple dolls of varying size, one inside the other. the center most doll is often a baby.
