Paper Straw

It’s like you’re nothing,

But a paper straw,

That people use,

To suck all the goodness from you,

For filling their minds,

With contentment,

Regardless,

Of empathy.

Once they’re full,

They leave you,

Dissolving,

Into a glass of your own tears,

Along with a lip stick stain,

Desperate to hold on to straws,

For survival.
