Saturday Mornings

I want all Saturday mornings like today.

A little lazy,

A little relaxing,

With a little rain,

And a little sunshine.

To laze for a while before we're really up,

To breathe in the air of mist and dust,

To listen to songs that we sing for each other often,

To eat our favourite foods and watch a movie that we've watched before but forgotten.

Yet remember the story and how much we liked it the first time,

Yet discover new things now in a different time,

Yet pausing it mid-way to stop and talk,

And continue conversations that had somehow stopped.

I want all Saturday mornings like today,

But only if Friday nights ended in a different way,

After seeing the slice of the moon even in rainy clouds,

After vulnerable silences that are not so loud.
