Sidelines

On the sidelines,

Of each game,

Each sport,

Cheering someone,

Holding a rose.

Elated when the team wins,

Tears when they don’t,

Shouting advices to play a certain shot,

Hoping the batsman is not caught,

Right on the edge of the boundary line,

Cheers going on the sideline.

Can I ever cross the line,

From being on this side of the line,

To be someone who hits a homerun,

A six over the long on,

While the crowd drum,

On the chants of me perhaps,

Cheering from the sidelines,

Of each game,

Each sport, perhaps.
