The Weather & Us

I woke up with rain pouring on my window,

Apparently it was louder than my alarm,

Yet lighter than my sleep.

The whole sky was covered,

In dark grey clouds,

Darker than blue,

Lighter than night.

Everything looked still,

But everything yet moved,

Faster than time,

Slower than a wave.

So, I dressed up complimenting the weather,

A little less gloomy than the sky,

A little more brighter than the clouds.

It was alright until I saw you,

Looking brighter than the sky,

And gloomy with your eyes,

Staring at me like it’s my fault,

For the weather to be like this,

For me to be like the weather.
