Until The Stars Fade

His dark eyes reflect the light,

Of the stars blinking million light years away,

As we sit under the dark twinkling sky,

Away from the sight of our friends,

Who won’t just let us alone ever.

We lay on our backs,

Staring at the Orion,

While we laugh at each other,

For all the silly things we’ve done.

As he finds a new star,

He asks me a question,

Always wanting me to answer first,

Being surprised at how similar our thoughts are,

And then starting an impromptu song,

Making me dance,

To his quick heartbeat,

All night until the stars fade away.
