I Deserve An Award

I deserve an award,

For being so patient,

In my chaos,

And dealing with the chaos around me.

I deserve an award,

For being so calm,

In the storms,

Some started by me and some by others.

I deserve an award,

For being so consistent,

In my efforts,

To get better everyday, in every way.

I deserve an award,

For being understanding,

In this phase of life,

That is teaching me to let go even if I don't like it.

I deserve an award,

For being the toughest soldier,

In this war,

That I fight with my own self on most days.

I deserve an award,

For believing in myself,

In hopes and through challenges,

And surviving through the life lessons amidst existential questions.

I deserve an award,

For handling my head and heart so efficiently,

In heartbreaks and moments of love,

I don't think anyone could have done it better than me.
