Did I only listen to the silence,

Or it was actually silent enough,

For everyone to hear,

The beats of my heart,

Thumping in the cage of my rib,

Or the walls of the silver winch.

The time seemed too fast,

A few breaths and we were away,

Listening to silences,

Of footsteps stepping away.
